IATSE Local 63 Signs Agreement with Q1 Productions

September 16, 2005 Winnipeg, MB – On September 8, 2005, IATSE Local 63, with assistance from the International, signed a first agreement with Q1 Production Technologies Inc. Local 63 certified Q1 under the Manitoba Labour Relations Act in 2003. The one-year agreement covers all employees and contract technicians, and includes a separate schedule for any preparation work with theatrical shows.

Located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Q1 specializes in technical support to the theatre, film, concert, corporate and special event industries by supplying lighting, drapery & rigging, staging, roof systems and audio. Q1 was also the successful bidder for lighting for the world premiere of The Lord of the Rings, scheduled to open in Toronto in 2006.
